On November 9, 2021, at the meeting of the Scientific Council of IS and AIP of the National Academy of Sciences, the chief researcher of the breeding laboratory, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Berezovsky M.D. reported on the creation of a new highly productive cross in the large white breed of pigs. A new breeding achievement was created in the conditions of a farm in the Dnipropetrovsk region by the method of crossing pigs of the large white breed, landraces, pietrens and terminal boars of their own reproduction. Pigs of the new cross are characterized by high productivity in various conditions of production. A decision was made to approve a new breeding achievement and its intensive use in the production of pig products.

At the same time, the Scientific Council considered the methodological recommendations "Implementation of the breeding program with the large white breed of pigs in Ukraine for 2021-2025", developed by the scientists of the breeding laboratory. Chief researcher of the breeding laboratory, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Berezovsky M.D. reported that in the recommendations, the main attention was paid to the stabilization of the work of breeding farms for the breeding of large white breeds of pigs, namely: breeding farms and breeding breeders, organizing the genealogical structure in connection with the mass importation of pigs of foreign breeding and their use, organizing the evaluation of pigs by genotype and phenotype, the mass introduction of computerization of the selection process with the transfer to index selection. The recommendations were approved by the Scientific Council with their further approval by the Scientific Expert Council of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine and implementation in production.
