Laboratory of Innovative Technologies and Experimental Livestock Facilities
From 1930 to 1941, the Institute operated a sector of animal hygiene and a laboratory of sorption technology, which conducted research on the problems of hygiene of pig keeping, animal hygiene standards of the physicochemical and microbial composition of indoor air. After the organization of the Animal Hygiene Department in 1960, the most relevant issues of the theory and practice of hygiene and technology of keeping pigs of different age and production groups began to be purposefully studied. To study the issues of pig keeping technology, in 1965 the Department of "Technology and Mechanization of Pork Production" was created at the Institute of Pig Breeding. Gradually, the name of the department changed somewhat ("Department of Technology of Production of Pig Products", "Department of Technology of Production of Livestock Products"), however, at different stages of functioning, the laboratories of the department were engaged in the development and improvement of existing technologies of production of pig products using progressive methods of industry management. The Laboratory of Innovative Technologies and Experimental Livestock Facilities was created in 2014 on the basis of the Technology Laboratory and the Laboratory of Design of Livestock Facilities, which were an integral part of the Department of Technology of Production of Pig Products.

Areas of scientific activity
Development and improvement of modern innovative technologies for pork production using progressive methods of industry management;
Development of technological, economic and spatial planning solutions for the main processes of pork production, namely:
- creation of an optimal microclimate in premises,
- removal and biotechnological processing of manure,
- animal hygiene and sanitation of feed, equipment and premises,
- environmental protection of the environment from waste from pig-breeding enterprises,
- development of zootechnical requirements for growing and keeping pigs,
- creation of modern equipment, machines and devices to ensure highly efficient technological processes,
- development of regulatory and technical and design documentation for the reconstruction and construction of pig farms and complexes,
- accumulation of a data bank and development of information and control computer programs.
Development of pre-project proposals, business plans and programs for the development of the pig industry.
Scientific achievements
To improve the conditions of keeping and feeding pigs, the following have been developed:
- a number of machines and their equipment; a ventilation system that provides air recovery in the pig premises; technology for the utilization of manure effluents for industrial complexes; system for cleaning polluted air in pig premises in special chambers;
- a number of design tasks for breeding pig farms and pig complexes with different volumes of pork production, which provide for production flow, comprehensive mechanization and automation of production processes;
- design and construction solutions and technical support for pig farms of enterprises of various sizes, capacities and forms of ownership;
- VIP farm projects for raising various species of animals;
- a pig complex of a closed production cycle of a monoblock type for NAAS research farms;
- a technological project for 6 thousand heads for environmentally safe pork production;
- a number of design proposals and technological solutions for the production of organic pig products;
- a modern innovative system for cleaning manure effluents and protecting the environment;
- innovative investment projects and business plans for pig producers using modern software and information technologies.
The scientific significance and novelty of the laboratory's developments have been confirmed by the receipt of 27 patents and 1 copyright certificate over the past 5 years (2018-2022).
