Brief information: The main issues related to the history of the creation and functioning of the Institute of Pig Breeding and APV of the National Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, its scientific and production units are highlighted. Considerable attention is paid to the scientific achievements of the Institute for the period from the day of its foundation to the present in the areas of technology for production of pig farming products, breeding, selection, genetics, physiology of pig reproduction, feeding, quality of pig farming products, veterinary protection and industry economy.
