Brief information: The main issues of the Ukrainian pig industry are highlighted: its formation, current state, development prospects, biological features of pigs, pork production technologies, technological equipment for keeping and feeding pigs. Much attention is paid to the development of design-technological and volume-planning solutions for new pig farms and complexes. The principles and design-technological solutions for the reconstruction of various types of pig farms are substantiated and developed. Features of pasture-camp keeping of pigs are presented. Breeding processes, methods of selection, genetics, breeding and reproduction of pig populations are covered in detail. The characteristics of feed and feed additives, the peculiarities of feeding different age and production groups of pigs, the quality of meat and fat products and the factors that determine it are given in detail, as well as the requirements for the veterinary and sanitary welfare of pig enterprises are presented.
